net-conference Version 4.0 is an important step forward to enable you to carry out Web conferences with many different options quickly and easily. Here are the most important changes from Version 3.5:
Performance and Reliability
- Improved stability, fewer crashes
- Vista/Windows7 compatibility
- Increased overall system performance
- Improved design for reconnecting to the server
- Multiple controllers can be assigned to a single IP mask. This includes load balancing by the main server and assigning controllers to sessions dynamically
- Session-related messaging has been moved to assigned group controller
- Status change messages will only be sent to friends (in large installations, the online tab is not shown)
- More efficient bandwidth control due to joined controllers
- Improved sharing performance
Functionality
- Clipboard-handling within app/desktop sharing
- Send file w/o being in a session
- Picture of user can be displayed instead of video
- Create personal notes in a session, similar to chat history, which is saved to the users's hard disk
- Send mail directly from eCS
- Conduct group chat outside a session, e.g., instead of just one-on-one chats, a single chat session between multiple users is possible.
